SCOTT
DOUGLAS WINS WITH BILL SMITH - PRO FAB MOTORSPORTS
CHASSIS
Huntington Beach, California (September 25, 2009) - AMSOIL
Kumho F-150 driver Scott Douglas knows what it takes to win
races and championships. That’s why the 11-time champ backed
up his program this year with a second PRO 4x4 F-150 with a
chassis built by Bill Smith and Pro Fab Motorsports in
Huntington Beach, California. “Our 2008 truck was so fast
and consistent that we only made minor changes to the
overall chassis design. The new 2009 truck worked extremely
well right out of the transporter and with only minor tuning
changes I was able to win the PRO 4x4 World Championship
race in Crandon with it,” stated Scott Douglas. “In addition
to his position as crew chief, Bill Smith is a master
fabricator and his chassis design works on both the high
speed Midwest tracks like Crandon and Bark River and the
tighter, more technical TORC Series tracks like Texas Motor
Speedway, Perris, California, and the one we will be racing
in Las Vegas.”

Prior to teaming with Douglas Motorsports, Bill Smith served
as operations manager and crew chief for Rod Millen at
Millen Works. The experience tuning Millen’s Pikes Peak
racers, short course trucks, concept vehicles and various
military prototypes is invaluable when it comes to tuning
The AMSOIL Kumho Ford F-150 for various track conditions.
Smith works closely with Douglas to select spring rates,
sway bar tuning, and valving adjustments on the Fox Racing
Shocks.
Traxxas TORC Series action resumes Friday September 25th and
Saturday26th under the lights at Perris Auto Speedway in
Perris, California. If you can’t make it, don’t miss it
Sunday October 4th at 11:30 am on ESPN2.
